You Can Race Yachts if You Live in Coronado
It’s going to be a beautiful spring morning on the open sea for all the sailors who live in Coronado. Silver Gate Yacht Club is hosting a sailing race on Saturday, April 20th. The race is open to any member of Silver Gate Yacht Club, San Diego Catalina Association, Coronado Yacht Club, PHRF San Diego or PHRF So Cal., but you’ll need to enter to race by tomorrow, Wednesday, April 17th at 5 p.m.
The race will follow, in order of precedence, The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), rules of the competing classes, and Sailing Instructions. All yachts competing must meet the equipment requirements for this Category 3 race, as defined in Appendix B of the SoCal PHRF class rules seen here.
Come on down from your Coronado home to the beautiful racing area. First warning will be at 10:55 a.m. The race will start, then round North Coronado Island to PORT and FINISH by taking San Diego Channel Buoy #9 to Starboard. Complete directions are in the Sailing Instructions.
