Pacific Beach – A Great Place to Read, Literally
Few activities are more relaxing than an afternoon at the beach with a good book. Pacific Beach residents and summer visitors are especially lucky. The Friends of the Pacific Beach Library’s Beach Reads program brings literacy to the beach in a wagon!
The Beach Reads wagon carries free, donated paperback books to beachgoers throughout the summer. The books include information and maps to the Pacific Beach/Taylor Library. This program raises literacy and teaches that reading can be fun shares about the many exciting programs at the Pacific Beach/Taylor Branch Library.
If you would like to make a difference while deepening your tan, and can pull a wagon, please email the Pacific Beach Beach Reads Manager at [email protected]
To donate your unwanted books to the Beach Reads program, contact the Donation Coordinator at [email protected]. If you would like to purchase books for your upcoming beach days or personal library, be sure to visit the PB Friends Book Sale on Wednesdays and Saturdays. All book sales are matched 100% by the City of San Diego’s Matching Fund Book Program, resulting in double the benefit for the Pacific Beach/Taylor Branch Library.
