Music, Art and Books Near Your La Jolla Home
Have you visited the Athenaeum Music & Arts Library lately? Located near your La Jolla home, you’ll find an amazing amount of musical activity this month and next as they begin the celebration of their 23rd anniversary season of chamber concerts. You’ll also find a wealth of reading and listening material that you can check out if you live in La Jolla, as a member of the Athenaeum.
A historic La Jolla home located at 1008 Wall Street, you can hear fine musical selections from chamber groups to small musicians of every genre in this cozy setting. While seating is on a first come basis, if you get there early (doors open at 7 p.m.), you should be able to find a seat.
Saturday, February 2nd’s performance will feature violinist Jennifer Koh at 7:30 p.m. Passionate and inspiring, her performance will encompass traditional to contemporary music. Jazz musicians will also be coming to the Athenaeum on Thursday, February 7th, 13th and 21st, featuring Sara Gazarek, the Mats Eilertsen Trio, and Road Work Ahead, all playing at 7:30 p.m. You can visit the library Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and hours are extended until 8:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.
