Memorial Day Provides Healing for Those Who Live in Del Mar
A ceremony entitled “Remembrance for Memorial Day” will take place at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 28th. The church is located at 334 14th Street, near your Del Mar home, in Del Mar Village. This annual Community Memorial Day Service traditionally begins with hymns and prayer and includes a Memorial Roll Call, where names of deceased soldiers are read. Lt. Col. Larry G. Brown, USMC of the Third Marine Air Wing, Miramar Marine Corps Air Station and active parish member is scheduled to speak, as well. Taps will play to conclude the memorial. The entire community and friends and families are invited to attend. Membership is not required, so if you live in Del Mar, this would be a special way to remember your loved veterans.
If you would like to have the name of a deceased veteran added to the roll and included in the prayer service, please call 858.755.1616. Please click here to learn more about other programs and services offered at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.
