Live in Coronado and Enjoy Best City Services
Residents of Coronado will be excited to know that their voices were heard! Mayor Casey Tanaka was presented a Voice of the People award from the International City/County Management Association and the National Research Center this week. The award is based on community response to local government services and the survey participants who live in Coronado gave extremely high marks and praise.
Only eleven other communities nationwide were chosen for this honor at a conference held last week. Outranking all other communities on “Top 3” rankings (the highest ranking available), citizens who call Coronado home gave high rankings to fire services, emergency medical services, recycling efforts, public library and city park services, community recreation programs, as well as the overall quality of all available Coronado services.
City Manager Blair King said,”We are proud to have received the Voice of the People Award for Excellence. The City’s favorable results from the National Citizen Survey are an extraordinary achievement but we want to continue to improve our services and sustain those areas where we are already performing well.” A further look at the survey results showed 98 percent of residents surveyed rated the overall quality of life in Coronado as “excellent” or “good” and I’m sure you can agree with those results, too!
