Fantastic shows (currently Surf Report) and live entertainment are not the only reason to visit La Jolla Playhouse.
La Jolla Playhouse offers a Young Performers’ Workshop series June 28 – July 23, 2010 for children entering grades 2-12 and a few spots are still available. La Jolla children will have fun building theatre skills, gaining confidence and developing social skills through collaboration and performance. Activities are structured by age group and involve acting, playmaking, improvisation, musical theatre and movement. It’s an experience of a lifetime!
The La Jolla Playhouse Summer Conservatory Program, in its 16th year, will run July 5 – August 13, 2010. This intensive audition-based 6-week acting experience for high school students grades 10-12 is designed for the serious performer to develop skills for a career in theatre. 35 hours of classes include Classical Scene and Modern Scene Study, Stage Combat, Ensemble Devised Performance, Voice & Speech, Movement and Yoga.
