The holidays are a magical time for all of us, but no one loves the season more than the kids! Here are some events in the San Diego area for the young (and the young at heart!):
Pancake Breakfast with Santa: Whether you’ve been naughty or nice, you’re sure to enjoy this delicious pancake breakfast with Santa featuring three varieties of fluffy pancakes, eggs, golden hash browns, and savory breakfast meats. Don’t miss cookie decorating and classic holiday stories read by special guest, Food Network Star and New York Times Best-Selling Author, Melissa d’Arabian. Breakfast with Santa at the San Diego KOA Resort: Santa Claus is Coming…to the San Diego KOA Resort! You won’t want to miss this magical weekend. Saturday afternoon will kickoff with holiday crafts and climbing on the rock wall. Saturday evening will feature special entertainment. Then wake up Sunday morning for Breakfast at the Sandcastle Cafe with the Big Man himself! Santa will be looking for you during breakfast to hear if you’ve been naughty or nice. Holiday Wonderland at Petco Park: Experience a new San Diego Tradition! Holiday Wonderland at Petco Park provides a spectacular holiday destination for all. Open for 12 nights in December, there will be fun for people of all ages. Get in the spirit and walk through the magical lighting displays, ride Polar Express trains, explore Candyland, feed live reindeer, take a photo with Santa near a 40′-tall Christmas Tree, enjoy the festive fare and so much more! Gaslamp Holiday Pet Parade: San Diego’s furriest festive parade returns to Downtown as the Gaslamp Holiday Pet Parade presented by Downtown Ace Hardware takes over the streets of the Gaslamp Quarter on Sunday, December 14, 2014. All pet owners and their furry, featured and scaled companions are invited to don their favorite costumes and put their best paw, wing and fin forward for this jolly promenade and pet expo, which starts and ends at Gaslamp Hilton Park, adjacent to the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter (401 K Street, San Diego, CA 92101) at Fourth Avenue and K Street. The Pet Parade steps off promptly at 3:00 PM from Gaslamp Hilton Park, with the parade route continuing under the iconic Gaslamp Quarter Archway and through the historic streets of the district, as festively-attired critters compete for bragging rights and prizes in various contest categories. The tinseled procession then returns to Gaslamp Hilton Park, where participants may explore the Pet Expo (free and open to the public from 1:00 to 5:00 PM) and pick up their complimentary goodie bag, filled with unique keepsakes, samples, toys and special discounts to some of the Gaslamp Quarter’s pet-friendly restaurants and shops. Entry to participate in the Pet Parade is just $15 per pet-and-pet-handler duo, $20 on the day of, with day of registration beginning at 1:00 p.m. December 14, 1-5 p.m.
