Halloween Happenings for the Littlest Ghouls and Goblins
Kid-friendly Halloween events abound in the San Diego area this month! Here are a few for you and your trick or treaters to enjoy:
Halloween Family Day at the Air & Space Museum: Come to the San Diego Air & Space Museum on Sunday, October 26th for our annual Halloween-themed pumpkin drop! See what happens when two pumpkins are dropped from our roof – one with a parachute and one without. Will they survive?! Drops are at 2:30 PM, with more fun beforehand! Make ghost rotors (paper helicopters with a Halloween twist) in the Education Center continuously from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM and watch them in the sky! Kids aged 12 and under receive free general admission with a paid adult (limit 2). Our special exhibition, Ripley’s: Believe It Or Not!, is not included with general admission and is $5 per person. The San Diego Air & Space Museum Halloween Family Day is part of the park-wide Balboa Park Halloween Family Day event. For more information, please visit the Balboa Park website.
Boo! It’s Halloween Storytime!: Bring your little boo for a fun Halloween-themed story time at The New Children’s Museum on October 31, from 10:30 a.m. until noon. This special toddler time storytime will feature not-so-spooky stories appropriate for even the littlest trick-or-treater. Free with museum admission.
Balboa Park Halloween Family Day: Families can kick off their Halloween celebrations with a spooktacular array of free hands-on activities and free admission for kids 12 and under with paid adult at the annual Balboa Park Halloween Family Day on Sunday, October 26. Over two dozen participating museums and cultural attractions throughout the Park will present creepy craft projects, scary gallery tours, spine-tingling storytelling, costume parades and contests, and other fun surprises from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Highlights of this year’s park-wide Halloween Family Day include mini-carnival games and costume contests for prizes hosted by San Diego Park & Rec., a doggie costume contest in the Spanish Village, the San Diego Air & Space Museum’s annual rooftop pumpkin drop, a free children’s concert and activities in the Spreckels Organ Pavilion, and free activity and prize-drawing booths on the Prado and in the Plaza de Panama.

More floats, more zombies, more music and more surprises. More of what makes the Boulevard BOO! Parade San Diego’s only Halloween Parade. The fun doesn’t stop after the parade. There are many places to discover in the College Area. Stop over to the Boo After Party & Float Award’s Ceremony at the College Ave Baptist Church from 12:00 to 5:00 PM, (4747 College Ave.).
