Halloween Fun Near Your La Jolla Home
At Halloween, what’s normally beyond the limits of our comfortable, everyday lives suddenly becomes welcome and invited. If you live in La Jolla, you are used to the myriad opportunities for fun and learning near your San Diego home, and this week is no exception. Get past boundaries and in the mood for tricks and treats with a full moon walk on The Ellen Browning Scripps. Only available during those picturesque (or spooky) full moons, you can explore a part of San Diego that which is normally closed to the public. This Monday and Tuesday, October 10th and 11th are the last days to enjoy this event for the year.
During the walk, a guide will teach you about the pier’s history and the nocturnal habits of marine life. You’ll also observe ocean conditions, collect plankton and make some magic when you learn to make marine organisms grow in the dark. If that wasn’t enough, you’ll even get up close and personal with other worldly creatures from the dark deep sea while dissecting a squid! Also included is a tour of the Scripps Oceanography campus. Ages 9+ only, and children ages 9-13 must be accompanied by an adult. Cost is $25 per person. Please click here for more details.
