Balboa Park Renovation Announced
Parked cars may soon be a thing of the past in Balboa Park.
A $33 million plan to remove cars from the center of Balboa Park was announced this week. Completion of the project would result in a new structure, just in time for the park’s 100th birthday in 2015. The plan would require the elimination of 67 parking spaces, and result in the addition of 900 spaces in a parking garage. Debate still is to be had regarding whether the structure will charge an hourly fee.
However, the plan will also result in a more beautiful Balboa Park and easier access to the beautiful historical architecture of Balboa Park.
