ABC’s Bachelorette Pad For Sale $5.89 Million
Usually ABC’s hit dating reality series’, The Bachelor and The Bachelorette are filmed at an estate called Villa de la Vina located in Santa Monica, California. This house has seen laughter, tears and plenty of steamy moments. For the upcoming installment of The Bachelorette, ABC is taking the show on the road and filming in North Carolina.
Why North Carolina?
The new Bachelorette is Emily Maynard and Charlotte, North Carolina is her hometown. The home was originally on the market for $3.9 million, but after it has The Bachelorette’s seal of approval and history, it’s now going for $5.89 million. What recession? Apparently the idea of living in a home occupied by celebrity hopefuls is enough to drive up the price of a property by nearly $2 million.
When is it for sale?
The home is already for sale. ABC has to confirm to the real estate company that it was indeed the house used for this season of The Bachelorette. Once that happens, the home can be marketed as such, hopefully bringing in bids. While million dollar homes in California aren’t what they used to be, you can bet that a space with this hefty price tag in North Carolina is going to have a ton of finishing touches that most of us can only dream of.
What’s the house like?
The mansion located in Charlotte, North Carolina is filled with European style decor. It is 12,000 square feet and boasts six bedrooms and eight and half bathrooms. That’s some serious swank for the South! The home was built in 2006 and went on the market in 2008. It was first priced at nearly 8 million, with an asking price of $7.89 million. Obviously the market took a turn for the worst, which is why the price has dropped substantially. The home has details like granite and marble countertops and floors.
The outdoor area has a kitchen and a pool. The ballroom was the perfect place for ABC to host the infamous rose ceremony that accompanies each episode of The Bachelorette. If you’re anxious for the gritty details of what it would take to actually purchase this ritzy property, with a 30 year fixed mortgage and 20% down on the property, you’re looking at paying $21,696 a month for a little piece of reality show history.
