10th Annual Black Film Festival At Home in San Diego
Looking for some amazing cultural fun at home in San Diego this month? The 10th annual San Diego Black Film Festival is happening from Jan 26th through January 29th at the Reading Cinemas in the Gaslamp District, Downtown San Diego. If you live in San Diego and enjoy the cinema, you’re sure to love this fantastic entertainment event.
This one of a kind festival is hosted by the San Diego Black Film Foundation, a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of African American and African Diaspora cinema as well as the education of media arts. Still one of the largest black film festivals in the country and now the second largest on the west coast, each year the SDBFF screens over 100 films including Comedy, Drama, Documentaries, Animation, GLBT, Horror, Religious, Foreign/African Diaspora, Shorts, Feature Films and music videos. Because this festival is held so early in the year, a large percentage of the films that succeed throughout the year at other national and international film festivals are premiered at the SDBFF.
