La Jolla YMCA Reopens
The YMCA in La Jolla announced that its facility which has been recently renovated will open to the public on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015 as the Shepherd YMCA Firehouse.
The 100 year old La Jolla facility in the Village had began its seven-month, $1.5 million restoration and renovation project in June. The La Jolla YMCA facility will feature an open concept Wellness Center with a brand new cardio and strength equipment, as well as Locker rooms with heated showers. Exercise classes, as well as youth programs like gymnastics and karate will be offered. The La Jolla YMCA will specialize in small group training and premium classes as well as customized family wellness programs.
“We are so excited to reopen this new facility to the La Jolla community,” said Sue Ball, regional vice-president for the YMCA of San Diego County and executive director of the location. “This new Y will allow us to help more of the community improve their healthy lifestyles.”
The YMCA will host a Grand Opening Celebration 9 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9. The public is welcome to attend this event, which will feature entertainment, performances and giveaways.
