La Jolla Beaches and Fun by the Pacific Ocean
La Jolla, meaning “the jewel” in Spanish, is one of the best beachside resorts in the country. This treasure features luxurious beachfront hotels, picturesque shores, a sunny and warm Mediterranean climate and a specific European elegance. La Jolla is magnificent and it features extraordinary and high-class boutiques, art galleries, restaurants and hotels. Additionally, it is one of the hottest spots for nature lovers, tourists, surfers and spa goers. The exquisite spas offer one of a kind facial and body massages that will make you feel like in heaven. The wonderful coves and emerald blue beaches will complement a magnificent adventure in La Jolla.
There is no room for boredom in La Jolla, because the place provides relaxation and fun at the same time. For example, you can snorkel in La Jolla Cove, a spot with crystal clear water or you can climb the sandstone cliffs that stand above the Torrey Pines State Beach. Families will find a perfect spot for them in La Jolla Shores. Here, they will discover a children’s playground, gentle surf conditions and a large sandy beach. Additionally, La Jolla Shores is the meeting point for ocean swimmers, scuba divers and kayakers.
Windansea and Marine Street
One of the best tourist attractions in La Jolla is the Children’s Pool. This is the place where tourists can admire California Sea Lions and other animals living in the ocean. They can also take photos with these incredible creatures. Couples and romantics must visit the Windansea and Marine Street beaches. These intimate coastal retreats are also ideal for having a relaxing day and reading a book at the beach.
The Windandsea Beach is situated far away from the restaurants, boutiques, hotels and homes in La Jolla. During the summer days, this beach is visited by sunbathers and surfers, and during the evenings it’s a paradise for the romantic couples having dinner by the ocean. It features marvelous surf breaks, sandy beaches and sandstone cliffs and it’s also very popular for surfing. The Marine Street Beach is situated in one of La Jolla’s residential communities and it features world-class galleries, shops, hotels and clothiers. It is a legendary beach for surfers and it’s not recommended for families because there are high tides and it lacks picnic areas and public restrooms.
The Casa Beach or La Jolla Children’s Pool is situated near La Jolla downtown and it’s a small cove where people can admire sea lions and seals. It’s not suitable for swimming, but visitors can take sun baths while enjoying the marine mammals that play at Seal Rock. Another great cove is La Jolla Cove. It’s also situated close to downtown La Jolla and it’s surrounded by high-end galleries, boutiques and hotels. La Jolla Cove is indeed a diving and swimming paradise and it’s included in the Underwater Park Ecological Reserve of San Diego. The cliffs above the cove offer amazing ocean views. No to mention that La Jolla Cove features clear waters that are perfect for snorkeling and scuba diving.
