Zsa Zsa Gabor’s Bel-Air Estate Back on the Market

News | 7th Jul 2012

Zsa Zsa Gabor’s Bel Air estate was priced at $12.9 million in March. In May, the price went up and it reached $14.9 million. The mansion owned by the former Broadway and screen actress was purchased for only $280,000 back in 1973. Throughout the years, her residence was an entertainment place for various U.S. presidents and also Queen Elizabeth. Apart from the overall beauty of the mansion, future residents will also have the chance to esteem its genuine architecture.

Since March 2012, the price of the property increased by almost $2 million. In February 2012, a notice of default was given for the house. That notice has been canceled in May when Frederic Prinz von Anhalt, the ninth husband of Zsa Zsa Gabor, had secured a large home loan and paid off another. The various public records state that the owner has debts of almost $6 million for the mansion.

The house is absolutely beautiful. It features a unique French Normandy – style that has attracted numerous visitors and buyers throughout the years. Numerous celebrities were drawn by the opulence of this estate, and it is famous for hosting parties and festivities for the Queen of England and numerous other American presidents. The site of this gorgeous mansion covers more than one acre and it’s entirely gated. The greatest feature of this impressive house is that it offers spectacular 270 – degree views over the ocean and parts of Los Angeles.

The home dates back from 1955, but it still looks new, innovative, and original. Among its features we can include the 7 bathrooms, the 6 luxurious and fashionable bedrooms, a tiny and lovely butler’s pantry, and an amazing circular foyer. The living space inside this mansion measures no less than 8,878 square feet, making it the perfect venue for parties and celebrations.

In 1973, the Broadway and screen actress Zsa Zsa Gabor paid only $280,000 for this gem that was used to entertain numerous VIPs, celebrities and officials. Zsa Zsa Gabor appeared in various films and TV shows and her best and more praised appearance was in the film Moulin Rouge in 1952. She had a starring role in that movie. Moreover, she had different guest appearances in the 80s show “The New Hollywood Squares”, and “The Hollywood Squares” in the 70s and 60s.

Currently, Gabor is 95 years old. She had various health problems such as pneumonia and a leg amputation. That’s why, for the last few years she mostly stayed in the hospital. In January 2011, her last husband, von Anhalt, declared that he’s willing to sell the beautiful mansion that accommodated the actress for so many years. The intention was to move Zsa Zsa Gabor elsewhere. Von Anhalt hoped to settle her in a more comfortable, peaceful, and quiet place. Moreover, with the money he would obtain from the transaction he intends to pay Gabor’s expensive, but necessary medical bills.

So, whoever is interested in buying and living inside an iconic mansion that sheltered so many celebrities can take advantage of this offer. The price is quite high, but the house is worth every penny.
