The month of September is filled with interesting events in San Diego, and Tequila Trail is one of them. On September 9, it will celebrate its 9th edition and the organizers have prepared some really special surprises for the guests. The festival is aimed to celebrate the Mexican roots of the Old Town of San Diego, and remember the region’s formers traditions. On this special occasion, all the bars and restaurants in town put out their best drinks and their finest culinary specialties to make attendants get a glimpse of San Diego’s true spirit. Fun is the key word for this event and those who know how to drink tequila the traditional ways will party and have a good time. A ticket only costs $35.00 and for a whole night you’ll be able to party with your friends and enjoy the best tequila brands.

Furthermore, the Tequila Trial Festival is of great importance for residents of the area. It is not only the oldest, but also the largest and most significant event of this kind in North America. It has grown in time through the help and financial contribution of Fiesta de Reyes and now it has become a unique event that never fails to amaze its participants. In 2012 it promises to be even bigger than in 2011. It is celebrated on Mexico’s Independence Day; thus, the people will have not one, but two reasons to celebrate. Also, it has great support from the San Diego County and the State of California.

To celebrate the finest spirits of Mexico, the festival will not only provide liquors of the finest quality, but also exciting activities, through which people are invited to learn more about the Mexican culture and history. For example, the event will begin with an Opening Ceremony which will take place in the Historic Park, in the Old Town. This is the official launch of the Tequila Trail and guests will be introduced to some of the finest Mexican drinks and culinary specialties. The next days, on the 10th and 11th the Annual Tasting Competition will take place, a competition that will be judged privately by professionals. On Friday, the 14th of September the Tasting Reception will be organized, which will be followed by a fancy Award Dinner at the Barra Barra Saloon. This is another opportunity to enjoy some more delicious tequila and great foods while the winner of the previous day is officially announced.

Various other similar events take place on each day of the festival, and anyone who is interested to participate is invited to subscribe. All these competitions and dinners are aimed to celebrate the Mexican tradition and its traditional products, but are also a good opportunity to have a good time, make new friends, and socialize with the people. The entrance ticket is not expensive at all and it is one of the best festivals in San Diego. It definitively must not be missed this fall because it promises to be better than ever.
