Steps to Happy Home Buying

News | 25th May 2010

IMGP8816 Buying a home can be a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be.   While home buying can cause disappointment and chaos, several key factors can make for a fantastic experience.  The following steps will give you some insight into buying a home smoothly and happily.

Work with a Great Agent.
We can guide you through the steps to finding a home.  Knowledge of local areas, communities and schools and buying trends, along with an extensive network, are key assets to finding your dream home.

Find Out How Much You Can Afford.
The National Association of REALTORS® suggests finding a home that is 2-3 times your gross annual income.  Knowing how much you can spend, prior to your home search, will save time and heartache.

If You Love the Home, Make an Offer.
A good home won’t be on the market long.  Act quickly if you have found the house you want to make your home!  The price of your new home won’t fluctuate much in a month, but several other buyers may be interested.  If they place an offer before yours is submitted, you may lose the home you love.

Be Realistic.
Make a list of wants and needs for your future home and rank them according to importance. What must you have and what can you do without?  While the “perfect” home may not be realistic, knowing your “must have” features can help in deciding between a “good” and “great” choice and lead to long-term happiness in your home.

Rely on Your Agent.
Not only can we help you find the best home, but we will make sure that everything goes smoothly – from initial negotiations through closing.  We want you to be happy and find a home you love!
