San Diego Restaurant Week Sept 16 thru 20th

News | 19th Sep 2012

Let’s face it, everyone loves food. There is no one in this world who does not love food. That’s why the San Diego Restaurant Week is anticipated by many. San Diego is indeed popular because of the number of good restaurants found in the area. The twice a year tradition of San Diego’s most successful and biggest food event is yet to start this coming September 16 to 20. It features more than 200 lovely restaurants, and all are considered to be excellent dining destinations.

But what exactly is the San Diego Restaurant Week? What happens during this fine event? Well, it takes place twice a year, since annual celebration is just not enough. The September’s event is actually the fall edition. And if you think that this is much like a food sampling event, better think again. This offers so much more than that. It isn’t like a simple food fair where you take a small portion of a selected dish. The San Diego Restaurant Week allows the people to sit down, dine, and eat a full, three-course meal. Thinking about it alone makes the people drool already.

Participating restaurants may offer lunch or dinner, or probably both. Lunch programs offer  a two-course meal that may range from $10-$20 per person, depending on the restaurant. And as previously mentioned, there are over 200 participating restaurants, and each of these serves different kinds of meals. People can choose from American dishes, Italian, French, Chinese, classic California favorites and everything else in between.

Since this is a huge event, it is wiser to get a reservation before the actual event starts. It is not required, however, it is highly recommended. Walk-ins are possible, but there is no guarantee that they will be accommodated properly. Remember, there will be thousands of people who plan to join this wonderful celebration. There are some participating restaurants that may offer online reservations, and this can be done through OpenTable.com.

As for the price, lunch accommodation may be a few bucks cheaper. But the main event happens during dinner time. The cost per person may range from $30 to $40, depending on the specific restaurant you’re interested in. The lineup of the restaurants is actually categorized by its price. Spending a few bucks during the San Diego Restaurant Week is surely worth it. The people can get the chance to taste the best meals in San Diego.
