Oysterfest San Diego June 16, 2012
San Diego is the place to be if you crave excitement. With so much to do and see, it can be quite overwhelming to newcomers! On June 16th The 3rd Annual San Diego Oysterfest will be held at the Marina Embarcadero North, located just behind Seaport Village, at 849 West Harbor Drive in San Diego. This destination is a favorite year-round for tourists and locals alike, however the Oysterfest offers a new twist to typically offered events.
On this outrageous day, celebrity chefs turn out to show off their talents in cooking demonstrations, and participants converge to engage in an oyster shucker competition, a highly discussed shuck and suck contest, and see the sights at the Oyster Expo. This event may be your one chance to learn techniques for shucking and serving oysters in your own home, too!
From 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., plenty of food, beer and oysters worldwide will be tasted, imported from Mexico to Canada. Please keep in mind that the Oysterfest is an adults-only experience, so remember to bring your 21 and over ID. Funds raised from this community event will go towards for Team in Training; The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and Veterans Research Corporation. A mix of well-known and live local bands and disc jockeys supply constant tunes to the event, allowing attendees to sing, dance, and eat all they like!
Bands scheduled to perform and Djs to present include:
- Vokab Kompany
- The Silent Comedy
- Little Hurricane
- Dj Mikey Beats
- Dj Mike Czech
- Dj Beatnick
- Dj Demon
General admission to the event is $25. VIP admission (includes beverages, food and VIP tickets and restroom access) is $100. This year a free bike valet will be provided, but parking is available at the Marriott Convention Center, if you prefer to drive. For more information, please click here.
