Live in Coronado and Love Flowers?
The Coronado Flower Show will be here before you know it and that should bring a smile and happy thoughts to those who live in Coronado homes. Scheduled for April 20-21, this exclusive event is held each year in Spreckels Park on Orange Avenue, between 6th & 7th Streets and this year’s show marks the 88th year for the community event. It brings residents a fabulous method of discovering flowers and plants for their own Coronado home, but also brings many visitors to town.
The show is themed “Ticket to Ride” this year and admission is $5, although children and Coronado Floral Association (CFA) members can attend at no cost. Known as one of the largest flower shows in the United States, you won’t want to miss out if you live in Coronado.
You can join in on a seminar on “Backyard Barn Owls, the gopher’s worst nightmare” or learn from an “Introduction to Bee Keeping and Pollination” or simply find out, “How to Grow and Show Your Roses” during your time at the show. A Beer & Wine Garden willl be open for your pleasure, as well. A full schedule of “Ticket to Ride” activities and locations is available throughout Coronado. You can pick up yours at the library, city hall, chamber of commerce or golf course. Find out more at the Flower Show website by clicking here.
