La Jolla home to traditional swimThe 82nd La Jolla Rough Water Swim is scheduled for Sunday, September 9th. This end of the summer tradition brings together swimmers of all ages who live in La Jolla and surrounding areas. The schedule begins with the junior 250 yard swim at 9 a.m. and continues throughout the day.  The Rough Water Swim at La Jolla Cove is a great way to enjoy a few more days of sunshine along with your neighbors and friends near your La Jolla home.

Women swimming will start with the mile at 11 a.m. and the mile for the men is at 12 p.m. The Gatorman Championship which spans 3 miles, will commence at 1:30 p.m. and the Amateur Boys and Girls start just after that race begins. All swimmers need to be registered and staged at least twenty minutes prior to the race and you can learn more about registration by clicking here.

Check in is offered on Saturday and Sunday, but may sell out, so get down to the cove early to make sure you have your chance to swim.  Registration packets include ankle bands, timing chips, and instructions, but all swimmers must supply their own bright yellow caps (which are required for participation).
