July 4th Race for Schools Near Coronado Homes
People living in Coronado homes can start the 4th of July off with a run through Tidelands Park at the 39th Annual Coronado Independence Day 15K Run 5K Run/Walk. The course is flat and fast and beautiful. Tidelands Park is next to Coronado Bay Bridge, so you’ll get a beautiful view of the bay as you race.
Proceeds from the race will go to benefit Coronado Islander Sports Foundation (ISF). ISF is dedicated to bringing competitive sports to Coronado schools. With the state budget cuts to education, sports programs are one of the things schools must cut in order to balance their books. Participation in competitive sports has been shown to boost kids’ confidence and performance in school, however. ISF aims to keep sports in Coronado schools for the benefit of kids living in Coronado homes. Your registration fee goes to help ISF in this good work.
The race starts at 7 a.m. on July 4th. Register online by clicking here. You can also register on the day of the race, starting at 5:30 a.m. Registration is $43 online or $48 on the day of the race. There will also be some fun drawings to win prizes after the race. Don’t miss out on this beautiful run near Coronado homes. To learn more about the race, click here.
