Beachside Fireworks Near Your San Diego Home

 San Diego is a great place to watch fireworks from the beach on the Fourth of July whether you live in San Diego or are just visiting. Whether you prefer a day of activity followed by an explosive show at the San Diego County Fair or a smaller community event at La Jolla Cove, you are sure to be able to find a great show near your San Diego home. The following are a list of annual celebrations that combine the best in sparkle and sand and are sure to delight you and your family.

  • The Big Boom Barge Fireworks Show starts at 9 p.m. and barges will compete for the best fireworks show between Shelter Island, Harbor Island, Seaport Village and the Embarcadero. To find out more, call 619.686.6200.
  • The Coronado Fourth of July Celebration is starts with a 15K run, 5K run/walk and rough-water swim and ends with a 9 p.m. firework show. A parade is also scheduled for 10 a.m. in downtown Coronado and a concert in Spreckels Park will begin at 4 p.m. Click here for more details.
  • La Jolla Cove Fireworks Show begins at 9 p.m. at the Ellen Browning Scripps Park, located at 1180 Coast Boulevard. Call 858.456.1700 for more details.
  • Ocean Beach Fireworks off the Pier at the end of Newport Avenue is in its 31st year and fireworks begin at 9:00 p.m. Call 619.226.8613 for more information.
